AEG Live Acquires Exclusive Booking Agreements with Philadelphia’s Electric Factory and Underground Arts

Philadelphia, PA (October 26, 2015) – AEG Live has announced exclusive booking agreements with Philadelphia’s legendary Electric Factory as well as popular indie-scene venue Underground Arts.  Both join AEG Live’s roster of area venues which includes the Keswick Theatre, Trocadero Theatre, and The Mann Center for the Performing Arts, the 13,000 capacity amphitheater located in the heart of Fairmount Park, Philadelphia.

“The acquisition of booking agreements with the Electric Factory and Underground Arts further solidifies AEG Live’s presence in the Philadelphia region,” said Mark Shulman, Vice President and General Manager of AEG Live Northeast. “Both venues have been integral to the city’s musical legacy, and we look forward to bringing a diversity of talent to their fans.”

Bryan Dilworth has taken a position as Vice President and will oversee the regional bookings.  Kevin Horn has been appointed as Talent Buyer and will oversee club bookings.  They join a team which includes industry veterans Jen Corsilli who works in marketing and operations in her role as Regional Marketing Director, Talent Buyer Brian Moore managing bookings at the Keswick Theater as well as other regional venues, and Lauren Squazzo who markets across all venues as Regional Marketing Manager.

The 2,600 capacity Electric Factory opened its doors at its current location in 1995. Originally founded in 1968 at 22nd & Arch Street, the original Electric Factory was one of the building blocks of the Philadelphia music scene featuring performances by legends like The Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, Frank Zappa, and Jefferson Airplane.  This year marks the Factory’s 20th anniversary year marked by upcoming sold out performances from Marina & The Diamonds, Chance The Rapper, Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, Circa Survive, Underoath, and The Chainsmokers.

The Electric Factory has been host to notable acts such as Foo Fighters, Adele, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Fall Out Boy, Ariana Grande, Metallica, The Black Keys, Ellie Goulding, The Disco Biscuits, Hozier, Bassnectar, Jhene Aiko, Matt & Kim, Kraftwerk and many more.

Opened in 2013, Underground Arts is a 650 capacity general admission club which quickly became one of Philadelphia’s go-to developmental rooms for up & coming performers across all genres of music as well as comedians, poets and more.  UA also features a 250 capacity black box theater for a more intimate setting.

Underground Arts has been host to notable acts such as Frank Turner, Halsey, Grouplove, Walk The Moon, Banks, Hiatus Kaiyote, ILoveMakonnen, The Lone Bellow, Falling In Reverse, Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats, Chris D’Elia, Todd Barry, Bridget Kelly & more.
