Dorian Love is NEW HERO. The new project of Los Angeles bred and now Philly transplant Dorian Love is sure to shake things up with a genre bending style he likes to call “Post-apocalyptic Future Soul”. Mixing the nostalgic with the new, he rocks raw and gritty beats with massive breathing pads, echoes of long dead factories, washed-out guitars, and soulful melodies.
Armed with a laptop, a keyboard, a guitar, and numerous amps, New Hero produces a sound big enough to fill a concert hall. And make no mistake; this ain’t your run of the mill DJ guy just blasting beats from his laptop and calling it a performance. Dude plays, and plays well. Don’t be at all surprised to see him adorned in insanely awesome costume with tribal makeup or maybe a raccoon mask, jumping all over the stage all the while ripping through a Hendrix-esque guitar solo.
New Hero is in the midst of completing a studio album due out later this summer.
