READING, PA – August 13, 2010 – Berks JAMFest 2010 will be held on November 5th and 6th in Reading, Pennsylvania, at the Silo Nightclub and it will be just the kind of event folks need to keep the spirit of the “summer festival” in the air, while hosting the type of jambands that will have you dancing right into the height of the fall season. This festival is certain to have all the good vibes and feel of a good ol’ outdoor jam fest, but INDOORS!

Not only will there be a total of 19 solid hours of music from a variety of different genres, but Berks JAMFest will also have an assortment of vendors with food, art, clothing, and much more. There will also be on-site tattooing and piercing courtesy of local business and friend, Dragonfly Studio & Glass (http://www.daviddragonfly.com/).

Stellar local talent to be featured at Berks JAMFest will be: Flux Capacitor [psychedelic dance rock] and the Good Lovin’ Jamband [Grateful Dead tribute], both from Reading PA, and HogMaw [bluegrass] from York, PA, and CopperTonic [funk, neo-soul] from Philadelphia, PA

Acclaimed regional talent include: Natural Breakdown [conscious jamrock, soul, gospel] from New Brunswick, NJ, Quagmire Swim Team [rock, electronica] from Harrisburg, PA, and Jah Works [hip-hop, reggae] from Baltimore, MD.

West Virginia based band, The Recipe, who has become a household name in the jamband genre, will headline Berks JAMFest on Friday night. Around since 1995, The Recipe brings a high-energy stage presence to EVERY show that brings any crowd into foot-stompin’ bliss, and, although they have been through many lineup changes over the years, under the leadership of co-founder (and the only remaining original member) Joe Prichard, the band seems to always find a way to continue their original vibe of “family & friends spirit” which is evident at most of their shows – there is always a family vibe, where everyone seems to know each other.

+VIBES and Gig Goals are very excited to announce that the Burlington, Vermont natives and self-proclaimed “high performance rock and roll” band, RAQ will be playing two full sets on Saturday night. RAQ has been blowing away venues and festivals since 2001 and they are, without a doubt, the second most famous touring band out of Burlington (a spot they humbly secede to Phish). They bring the entire show to the stage – seamless jams complete with guitar shredding, varying melodies, and catchy lyrics – and they have created a myriad of loyal fans across the nation. This will be RAQ’s only Philadelphia/New York City area show on their current tour.

DJ Spacecase, who is a local friend of +VIBES, will spin sets of the best dub, jungle, and house music before and in between RAQ’s sets to keep you all dancing through the night!

The Silo Nightclub is a 1000-plus person venue with two floors and Berks JAMFest will be providing music on both levels – alternating between the main stage (downstairs) and the “’tweener” stage (upstairs).

There is NO CAMPING at this event, however you will be able to do the next best thing –+VIBES and Gig Goals have recommended a number of lodging options to continue with the summer festival vibe. There are 50 hotels within 25 miles of the venue – there’s even one connected to it! So concert goers can be safe, have fun, stay late, and make a weekend out of Berks JAMFest.

PlusVibes Productions has been around since 2008, but its founder, Chris Kratz, has been involved with the Reading music scene since 2003, booking over 750 shows in the Reading vicinity, primarily at the jamband renowned small venue, The Brass Lantern, located in Northeast section of the city. Some of his most notable bookings have been Lotus, The New Deal, The Benevento Trio, Brothers Past, Frog Holler, Future Rock, Living Earth with Mookie Siegel, Michael Glabicki (of Rusted Root), Melvin Seals and JGB, and Boris Garcia with Tim Carbone (of Railroad Earth) just to name a few. Kratz also has multiple years of sound engineering and lighting experience under his belt and, in creating PlusVibes Productions, he has pledged a mission of “spreading positive vibes through live music to make the world a better place”. Kratz and +VIBES is currently still booking shows full-time at the Brass Lantern and also hosts and sponsors charity events throughout the year for local and global causes in following up on his belief that “you can change the world through positive thinking” and the “power of positivity in numbers”.

Gig Goals, created by Donald Dix handles the booking and promotion duties for Music at Snipes Farm in Morrisville, PA and he also provides management and booking services to other regional concerts, promoters, events, and artists. Dix been a music lover for as long as he can remember, and like most of us music heads out there, he has spent time traveling and seeing really great bands. He started putting shows together and the rest is really history. Railroad Earth, Natural Breakdown, Cabinet, Only Footprints, The Breadbox Band, and the Toni Brown Band are just some of the names Gig Goals has been responsible for bringing to Snipes Farm. Gig Goals also provides stage management and festival support services for events such as Jammin’ for the Animals, an annual Humane Society Benefit and outdoor festival right outside he city of Reading (sponsored by +VIBES). Gig Goals has also worked on special events in venues all over the region such as the Mauch Chunk Opera House (Jim Thorpe, PA), the Sherman Theater (Stroudsburg, PA), and Grounds For Sculpture (Hamilton, NJ).

PlusVibes and Gig Goals have come together to create a premium live music event in Berks JAMFest 2010, a first in what they hope is many more in the years to come! We hope you support them at this and all of their events to come.
