This Installment features Singer/Songwriters Bess Rogers and Rachel Platten:

Is Bess Rogers a folkie with pop rock instincts or a pop rocker with an acoustic bent? It’s hard to place her in a neat category – and that turns out to be a source of strength for this eclectic singer/songwriter, Rogers – a member of Ingrid Michaelson’s touring band – likes to surround her sweet lyric sentiments with a tough outer coating as she recounts tales of fumbled romance and fragile happiness.

Rachel Platten crafts songs with beautiful, memorable melodies and intelligent, moving lyrics. Then she delivers them with her compelling and powerful voice. She is an accomplish guitarist and pianist with enough stage presence to make you forget that anyone else is in the room.
