WHAT: FIREFLY MUSIC FESTIVAL
WHERE: DOVER, DE
WHEN: 7/24/12
Last Friday will go down in history as the kick off to a now MAJOR festival force to be reckoned with known now to thousands as the FireFly Music Festival! Day 1 of the fest started off with a HUGE bang with a lineup including; Jack White, Bassnectar, Silversun Pickups, John Legend, OK GO, Mayer Hawthorne, The Wallflowers, Matt Costa, AND MORE!

Heartless Bastards
Heartless Bastards took the stage at 3pm to be the first band TSI caught for the day. What a great way to start the day with the cool, get down, feel good female vocals from lead Erika Wennerstrom and alt rock sounds from the rest of the band.

Matt Costa
Up next TSI rolled over to The Porch Stage to catch an act that TSI has heard so much about. Matt Costa who brought pleasant tunes to our ears now goes up on the extensive list of TSI approved artists and is a must see for any music junkie!

OK GO
OK Go put on an awesome show at the The Lawn Stage, complete with confetti cannons, playing their older, and newer tunes.

John Legend
On the Firefly Stage John Legend opened with a cover of Bob Marley’s “Redemption Song,” captivating the crowd from the beginning of his set.

Bassnectar
As usual Bassnectar’s beats filled the lawn with energy, glow sticks, and some enthusiastic, one-of-a-kind dance moves.

Jack White
From there the attention swung back over to The Firefly Stage where Jack White mesmerized the masses. The set started out rough with some sound issues, but once the cranked in the main’s the crowd went NUTS! White, with his boy band, played both his own tunes as well as those from previous projects like Dead Weather, The Raconteurs, and of course, The White Stripes. The weather turned out to be overcast most of the day, with the exception of the rain that fell perfectly from beginning to end of Jack White’s set.
Coming on the Firefly Day 2 Recap: Imagine Dragons, The Knocks, Young the Giant, Modest Mouse, The Killers, and more!!
