New York-based Bird Call premieres her new single “Phantom Limbs” today with Under The Radar, a spotlight track highlighting songwriter Chiara Angelicola’s transition from more traditional instrumentation into the realm of emotionally charged electronic performance pop with a nod to the stars–or as Bird Call puts it “A grimy alien romance in outer space”.

Early last year Angelicola teamed up with producer Bryan Senti  (Mark Ronson, Rufus Wainwright) and together embarked on a transformation in soundscapes and collaboration. The project’s forthcoming debut LP under the new sound Will We Get To Mars? is slated to drop later this year and showcases over a year’s worth of songwriting and production experimentation for the duo. Much of the record’s’ lyrical content explores a particularly turbulent past relationship for Angelicola, lending a particular efficacy to the new collection of tracks. This past fall, Bird Call unveiled the first taste with single “Miracle Man” for free download. The striking video features Vogue dancer Dashaun Wesley aka Dashaun Evisu and Angelicola in kaleidoscopic visions with a galactic twist.
