West Virginia based singer-songwriter Logan Venderlic comes to Lancaster this Saturday, February 11th, for a show at the Dispensing Company.
In anticipation of his self-titled full length album which will be released on April 17th, Logan is doing a winter weekend tour of sorts. He hopes to hit the road for an extended tour come late Spring.
The new record which features 10 songs was recorded half in Lawrence, Mass. and half in Troy, Ohio. The songs are brand new except for “A Walk With A Girl” and “Me, Me, Me,” which can both be found on his first EP, released in 2010. ” ‘A Walk With A Girl’ is the only song with a proper video” Logan told me in an interview from his home in Morgantown.
“It was great to go in the studio and re-imagine these songs with a full band. I got to collaborate with my old high school friend Nick Vandenburg who played numerous instruments and helped produce the record.” Another friend, Megan Walken added cello on the record.
Logan will perform solo at the Dispensing Company on the 11th. He is excited about performing the new tunes in front of a live audience. The songs are heartfelt and well-crafted images of life in West Virginia. He sings in a sweet rustic tenor with shades of Conor Oberst.
Logan also told me that he will gladly give you a free copy of his first EP simply by checking him out on Facebook or Twitter. Or, if you are in neighborhood on Feb. 11th just go up and say “Howdy”. I am sure he would like that.
