Cotton Jones at DC's RRH
A crowd of what seemed to be mostly couples filled the Rock & Roll Hotel March 9th for a relaxing evening with Cotton Jones. Hailing out of Cumberland, MD, their sound can be easily described as folksy & melodic. Of course, that’s a gross oversimplification.
Anything but pretentious, the blended voices of Michael Nau and Whitney McGraw create such a gentle and non-interruptive style, floating effortlessly downstream with a gentle current, adrift in journey.
If you’ve ever been on the highway and noticed another car with the passenger’s bare feet perched up outside the window, toes being licked by the breeze while also being embraced by the warm sunshine, they were likely listening to Cotton Jones…and smiling silently inside about this under-the-radar gem.
