Cozy Galaxies - New video and Show 1/16

TSI_NEW_LOOK_LEADERBOARD

We really love this band! They have roots planted in Lancaster, PA and Philly and you may recognize them from when we covered Bloktober Fest this past October in Southwest Philly. They were on of the bands to play on the main stage right before The Love language.

Below you can check out their new video for the single “Clean Your Self Up”. With the mellow dramatics of  Radiohead and the melody of Mazzy Star this song ceases the sad basterness in my heart:)

Cozy Galaxies have a show on Jan 19th with Baltimore band, Secret Mountains at Kung Fu Necktie in Philly.

Cozy Galaxies Are:
Henry Koon: drums, Andrew Mattey: bass, Peter Plaxa: guitar, Andrew Senkowski: keyboards, Marc Snyder: vocals/guitar

Cozy Galaxies formed in Lancaster PA 2006 when long time friends Henry Koon, Andrew Mattey, Peter Plaxa, Andrew Senkowski, and Marc Snyder first started working on their blend of lush and expansive rock music. After a move to Philadelphia in 2007 the band began sharing the stage with such acts as Dr. Dog, Hoots and Hellmouth, the Starlight Mints, Adrian Grenier and the Honey Brothers, Pete Best (original drummer of the Beatles,) and Youth Group.

Cozy Galaxies is also the name of the band’s first album, which is currently available for download from Itunes and other online retailers.

Built on sonic landscapes and filled with unexpected detours; the album varies from adventurous rock songs that are driven by Koon’s and Plaxa’s amazing skills at their respective instruments, to acoustic ballads that are lifted by Senkowski’s electronic tinkering.

The album is at once technically proficient but still retains a laid back feel, providing a nostalgic yet thoroughly modern sound. The band recorded half the album in Philadelphia, and the other half in a cabin at Rickett’s Glen State Park PA. The change in scenery provided inspiration to a band that maintains both its organic roots and an urban sensibility.
