Last week, Jay-Z made headlines for releasing Occupy Wall Street themed t-shirts through his clothing line Rocawear. The rapper came under fire for the t-shirts due to the fact that no proceeds from the new line would be shared with the Occupy cause itself. It seems as though the backlash to this seemingly exploitative move really hit home, seeing as the line has since been recalled. Many spoke out against the superstar mogul, including indie rockers like Titus Andronicus frontman Patrick Stickles. Regardless of how you feel about the movement itself, you’ve got to admit that selling Occupy themed shirts for personal gain is kind of a dick move, right?
