This weekend marks the third anniversary of Elephant Talk Music Fest. “The Randy Bee” from TSI had a chance to catch up with Elephant Talk’s promoter Jerry Ryan to get the scoop before the fest.

TSI: What do you expect from this year’s event.
JR: I never know how many people are going to show up. This year’s Festival is different though in the fact that we are doing this to raise money for a good cause.”
Jerry’s son Jeremy has autism and this year the proceeds go to a music school in Galloway, NJ where Jerry lives with his family that is dedicated to teaching kids with autism.
JR: My son Jeremy was studying piano with the woman there and she asked if I could get her more students. I told her absolutely and decided to make this year’s Elephant Talk dedicated to helping establish this music school in my town.”
TSI: Thats a wonderful concept! Is this the first school of its kind?
JR: I don’t think it’s the first of it’s kind but it definitely is the first in this area.
It’s more evidence in the power of music to help and to heal. Speaking of music this three day event features over 100 bands performing in various venues.
JR: We have a great music scene in Atlantic City. Since this year’s festival is a benefit we opened it up to any band that had the spirit to help and not just bands whose music we liked
A look at the line-up shows confirms the diversity of sound appearing this weekend. Bands such as Deafening Colors, Joy Ike, & Bellflur all bring their unique sounds to help out this incredibly worthy cause.
JR: Deafening Colors has been with us since the beginning. They will be performing several times during the weekend.”
