Four guitars and four master players.  Bucky Pizzarelli, Frank Vignola, Gene Bertoncini and Howard Alden, all on the stage at one time.  Together they have over 200 years of guitar playing experience.

The concert was at the Miller Center for the Performing Arts in Reading’s downtown.  It’s a great place for an intimate concert where the class and the acoustics of the Miller Center, combined with great lighting, makes for an extremely enjoyable experience.  The Masters played together and soloed, each showing their incredible talent.  When it came time for each player to solo, each played two selections and their playing mesmerized us all.   The tunes ranged from Bach to Jobim, from classical to standards.

They weren’t loud and they weren’t flashy.  They didn’t move from their chairs.  The concert was as much a guitar lesson as it was a concert.  Another great jazz moment at the 2011 Berks Jazz Fest.
