For the last couple months Hard Rock Cafe has been holding their annual Hard Rock Rising battle of the bands competition across the world at pretty much every Hard Rock Cafe that produces live shows. And Hard Rock Philly was no different. It came down to the local finale battle between local indie bands Independence Drive, Epoch Failure, and Black Stars.
To be expected, this was the best show HRR Philly has ever seen. Industry judges, QD Tran (The Deli Magazine), Lou Pliaia (ReverbNation), and Mark Shultz (The Recording Academy) were on site to judge each band on a list of factors including musicianship, overall performance, song writing, and more.
The race was tight, but winning by a fraction of 6 points, the local HRR Philly champion title went to Black Stars who will take home a cash and gift prize pack including an ad package from Tri State Indie and a promo photo shoot form TSI photographer Tim Becker Photography. Black Stars now move onto the national battle rounds, ultimately winning a spot on a Hard Rock Festival, this summer in Rome, Italy!
