Lawsuit Filed Against Muse

TSI_NEW_LOOK_LEADERBOARD

On Tuesday, Manhattan screenwriter Charles Bollfrass filed a $3.5 million lawsuit against stadium rockers Muse for the song trilogy “Exogenesis” which appeared on their 2009 release The Resistance.  Bollfrass claims that in 2005 he pitched a Sci-Fi “rock opera” of the same name to Muse  (along with two other unnamed bands).  Bollfrass brought this suit against Warner Music, and filed the claim on September 11, 2012.

Here’s what a representative for the band had to say:

“The claim is complete nonsense, and is categorically denied.  It appears to be based on a ‘screenplay’ which the band never received or saw, produced by someone the band has never heard of.  It speaks volumes that the album in question was released a full 3 years ago, and yet this is the first that has been heard of these groundless allegations.”

A press release from BB Gun Press also noted that:

“Warner Music will aggressively defend this lawsuit, and the band is exploring what remedies may be available to them in the US in relation to these untrue and baseless allegations.”

In other Muse news, their latest LP The 2nd Law is due out on October 2.
