Magnets & Ghosts, an alternative rock band comprised of Dean Roland (from Collective Soul) and Ryan Potesta, will release their album “Be Born” on November 10, 2014. Obvious influences of pop, rock, and even punk shine through this EP. Since Roland and Potesta’s release of Mass in 2011, Magnets & Ghosts seems to be discovering some new edgy guitar and synth sounds. Look out for some updates from the band about their upcoming EP. Here is a video from their last album, Mass:
Magnets and Ghosts is an Alternative Rock Band and Production Team made up of Dean Roland (From Collective Soul) and Ryan Potesta. The duo first met during the creation of Collective Soul‘s 2007 album Afterwords. After discovering they had similar taste in music and when Collective Soul went on hiatus in 2010 they decided to form their own band, Magnets and Ghosts.
In the fall of 2011, Magnets and Ghosts released their debut, full-length album, Mass, which was well received by fans and critics alike. Influenced by bands like Radiohead, Doves and Elbow, Roland and Potesta created honest and inspiring rock anthems such as “Like a Sunday” and “Light My Flame” that showcased their strong songwriting talent.
Three years later, Magnets and Ghosts has returned with a new EP called Be Born. Featuring standout tracks like “Drug Money” and “Here To Save Me,” Be Born is a impressive follow-up that finds them exploring their vast sound with sincere honesty and intense vulnerability. The record balances their rock roots with a pop-sensibility that transcends genres and is accessible to practically everyone. Be Born this fall.
