On September 16 you can fully listen and buy Juice. Fourth studio album of a collaboration between Avant-Jazz-Funk band Medeski Martin and Wood and  jazz guitarist John Scofield. They came together 17 years ago and have been seen to have a great musical interplay kinship on and off the stage. Take a listen to Sham Time below.

Medeski Martin and Wood’s last three albums had great reviews and this album will sure be viewed as another success for the band. Medeski stated on behalf of their musical career and their collaboration, “We all love music from Brazil, the Caribbean, and Latin America, as well as what became boogaloo here in the States, and it has always been intertwined with jazz”. “We got together and started exploring that connection in our own way.” In another statement, Scofield said, “Reacting to each other is really what it’s about,” concludes Scofield. “That’s what makes this music work. We’ve gotten to the point where we can come together and make something that is identifiable and organic, yet it’s growing and changing all the time.”

The new album consists of original compositions and four covers, that including Bob Dylan’s ‘The Times They Are A-Changin and Cream’s ‘Sunshine of Love.’

The band will be announcing a North American Tour shortly.
