Molestice, the annual block party and free music festival returns Saturday June 20th to the 100 block of North Mole Street. Kick off Summer Solstice celebrations with music on an outdoor stage featuring some of the region’s finest emerging artists including Kuf Knotz Band, Brian LaPann, New Sweden, Ill Fated Natives, Effie Liu, Woodro Skillson, Gooch and The Motion and The White Cheddar Boys. The annual Block Party promises a day of music, community, food and fun.

“Molestice is actually a 20-year old tradition, started by the neighborhood of North Mole Street. The event has historically involved a day of live theatre performances and community building. In recent years, Mole Street – an agency actively involved in booking live entertainment in the Philadelphia region – has taken over production of Molestice and we are excited to announce an eclectic line up of musical performers,” says Sean Timmons, Talent Buyer for Mole Street.

Rope A Dope Records recording artist, Kuf Knotz celebrates life with his blend of hip hop, soul, blues, jazz and rock. His latest release A Positive Light, sets the tone for music that uplifts and brings optimism to a challenged world.

Brian LaPann is currently laying down tracks at Forge Studios. The band is fresh off festival appearances at The Taste of 3 Cities in Baltimore, MD and Bourbon Street Blue Festival in Lebanon, NJ, in addition to local venues such as World Café Live and Ardmore Music Hall.

From Brooklyn, Effie Liu’s signature sound meshes hip-hop with electronic pop. With a look inspired by Tarantino’s iconic movie, Kill Bill, her energetic and dynamic performance brings the right amount of sparkle and glitter.

New Sweden is an indie-folk Americana band out of Wilmington, DE that has been described as “a little bit of The Avett Brothers, a little bit of The Clash.”

At the festival Mole Street will be providing food trucks such as Poi Dog Snack Shop, Phoebes BBQ and KAMI, as well as craft beer for cash purchase. Admission is free for all ages, with drinking privileges for those 21 and over.

Molestice takes place on Saturday, June 20th from 12:00pm to 7:00pm.  The location is 100 block of North Mole and Race Streets.

About Molestice

For over 20 years, arts enthusiasts living on the 100 block of North Mole Street have embraced the summer solstice with an all day block party called Molestice. On the longest day of the year, the corner of Race and Mole Streets in Philadelphia comes alive with the sounds of melodies and the aroma of delicious food. In recent years, experience planning and entertainment booking agency, Mole Street, has produced the annual event, transforming it from a neighborhood block party to a full scale music festival, while remaining true to its community performance roots. Mole Street’s mission for Molestice is to build the Philadelphia community through music, block by block.
