Mother Of Mercy (Record Release Show)
Bridge Nine is excited to welcome one of the hardest bands coming out of Pennsylvania, Mother of Mercy, to their roster. Formed in the Spring of 2007 and featuring ex members of Let Down, Mother of Mercy plays contemporary metallic hardcore that draws some of the best elements of 90′s ‘core with a well-executed tinge of metal. Their music is raw, abrasive and dark – highly influenced by Samhain, Undertow and Obituary – and a welcomed addition to the B9 family. Mother of Mercy’s vocalist, Bob Wilson, said “…we’re excited to be on the label, to play with different bands, tour exotic places and be label mates with Striking Distance.” Mother of Mercy has spent the last several years on the road alongside bands like Comeback Kid, Dead Swans, Cruel Hand, Title Fight, Foundation, Alpha & Omega, and playing staple hardcore festivals like United Blood, This Is Hardcore, and Sound and Fury. With several prior releases including the No Eden 7″ and critically acclaimed III that was released last year on Six Feet Under Records and hailed as one of ScenePointBlank’s “favorite records of the year”, Mother of Mercy’s upcoming Bridge Nine debut full length will be nothing less than stellar. Expect the band to hit the studio early this summer and stay tuned for details on a full-length release later in 2010.
Cold World
Cold World are some of the great heroes of Wilkes Barre Hardcore. Playing aggressive hardcore and taking cues from various hip hop elements while not being a rap-core hybrid has catapulted their joints to the most talked about in recent memory. Despite a lack of activity recently, they are still just as volatile live as they’ve ever been before.
Free Spirit
The return of Positive Hardcore is well underway and this Massachusetts based “posi” band is one of the fore runners of the latest wave.
Cop Problem
Cop Problem fuse dbeat elements with an aggressive hardcore punk foundation. While being both fierce and catchy, this Philadelphia band is bound to make some waves soon enough.
