My Morning Jacket w/ Neko Case

One of our most beloved bands, My Morning Jacket are playing an epic show in Philly on Tuesday at the Mann Music Center.
My Morning Jacket released a new record, Circuital, this spring and we were in love just as we have been with past releases Z, Evil Urges, The Tennessee Fire among others. MMJ is a band that always delivers with something new on each record that’s a step outside the box from the last. From funk, to beautiful folk harmonies, electro rock, dueling guitar solos (that would even make Wilco blush) and just good ol’ rock and roll; there’s nothing these guy can’t do and nail it, but in a style all their own.

If you can even imagine a My Morning Jacket show getting even better still, please do, because on Tuesday they are teaming up with the stellar Neko Case, who is also one of our favs. Neko Case is the front woman of the New Pornographers, but also has a successful solo career which launched back in 1997. Her 2006 release Fox Confessor Brings The Flood still makes our heart melt each time we hear it.
So if you have not made plans already, make date to attend My Morning Jacket with special guest, Neko Case at the Mann Music Center for the Arts in Philly. This is definitely a show not to miss.

“Widely regarded as one of the greatest live bands of their generation, My Morning Jacket’s spectacle of a live show has become the stuff of legend and touches down in Philadelphia for one show only August 23rd. From performing at Madison Square Garden to being nominated for a Grammy with their last album Evil Urges, their achievements show no signs of slowing down.
Since forming in 1998 the group has boldly tackled new genres and ideas on each album, maintaining a perpetual evolution that is thrilling, innovative, and impossible to predict. Frontman Jim James has an immediately recognizable voice that is iconic in its own right. Soulful and enigmatic all at once, his golden tenor can command an audience equally with heartbreaking fragility or unfettered power.
The quintet’s sixth studio album, Circuital, was recorded almost entirely live to capture an honest spirit and human spontaneity throughout the listening experience. The new songs are destined to sound electrifying in a live setting, and the guys are excited to perform their latest batch of anthems for fans across the globe.
Neko Case, the fiery singer-songwriter whose smoky, sophisticated vocals are often featured with Vancouver indie supergroup the New Pornographers tours in support of her latest album, Middle Cyclone. SPIN Magazine gave it 9-out-of-10 and The New Yorker calls it “the best album of her career”.
