So many of my favorites released albums today, I’m one happy girl. Hopefully you can all find some praiseworthy music in this list because it’s definitely not lacking greatness. A lot of big names but also some indie artists that need to be watched.

PICK OF THE WEEK

Foster The People have had their fans on the edge of their seats for new music since their debut album Torches in 2011. With this new album Supermodel, the band has released numerous songs to give the audience a taste of what they’d be receiving. Foster The People were able to keep their signature indie pop sound while experimenting with new techniques. There are songs on the album that could be a part of Torches, some songs that have more of a rock n’ roll vibe, and others that hit you with pop-synth. At Firefly Music Festival last summer they played two new songs off Supermodels which had me itching for this album for months.

NOT-SO-INDIE PICK OF THE WEEK

Wolverines is Brooklyn rock band I Am The Avalanche’s third album. Just like Foster The People, I Am The Avalanche haven’t released a new album since 2011. This highly anticipated album is full of passion, love, anger and struggles. IATA is a band that doesn’t seem to rush recording and writing, they’re been a band for nine years and this is their third release. The fact that they aren’t just spitting out records shows that they give their albums all they have and what they release is truly the best.
