Mia Dyson, an Australian singer-songwriter that is currently residing in Los Angeles, has released her new single “When We’re Older” off of her upcoming fifth full-length album that is due to be out in June. The album, which will be supported with a Pledge Music Campaign, was recorded in Ojai, CA at Brotheryn Studios. It was produced by Pat Cupples and Erin “Syd” Sidney for The Co-Op., who worked on her last album, The Moment.
Being critically acclaimed in Australia for over a decade, Mia has been working hard for the past three years to reciprocate that success in the states. She adds that American culture and journey into her music, along with other struggles such as separating from her long-time partner, going broke, and losing her band. All of these making her and her music stronger.

“The song is looking down the road to being really old and how the world will perceive me at that point. The world seems to ignore people as they get older, but it doesn’t have to be a dark, sad thing.” She explains, “There could be a freedom waiting for us and I want to embrace the freedom that comes with getting older, celebrating the idea of growing older wih the person I love, hoping our love lasts that long. Seeing the true beauty of the world and each other.”
Mia will be playing a few west coast shows this month as well as SxSW in Austin. Her official showcase is on March 15 at Central Presbyterian Church. Check out other dates below.
