Northside Schedule is Live!
The Northside Festival schedule is here! We’ve got some great new additions to our lineup including Asobi Seksu, Oh Land, Wise Blood, MINKS, The Miracles Club, Yellow Ostrich, The Stuyvesants, along with hundreds more. Check back often, as more bands continue to be added, lose yourself in the copious amounts of talent, and get excited for four days of film, arts, ideas and music!
We are also thrilled to announce that SiriusXMU, North America’s indie rock channel, will be LIVE broadcasting our Guided by Voices and Surfer Blood performances on June 18, plus band interviews and other exciting content straight from The Steve Madden Stage at McCarren Park. This is such a special show, and Sirius XMU wants to broadcast the glory all over the country for people who can’t make it to the real thing.
Brooklyn’s favorite indie-Balkan folk outfit Beirut plays McCarren in a SOLD OUT show for the Northside Festival on Friday, June 17, but tickets are still available to Guided By Voices on Saturday, June 18th, with support from Wavves, Surfer Blood and The Babies. Tickets are on sale here.

ABOUT NORTHSIDE FESTIVAL:
Created by The L Magazine, The Northside Festival, June 16-19, is a four-day celebration of Brooklyn and what’s next in Music, Art, Film and Ideas. The best regional, national and global talent will be showcased, all within the walkable radius of Williamsburg and Greenpoint. Visit www.northsidefestival.com
Over 250 bands will play over the four days at more than 25 venues scattered throughout the neighborhood, the majority of which will be handpicked by some of the most respected labels, bloggers, record stores and other independent tastemakers in the community. Highlights include the return of live music to McCarren Park, with Beirut and Guided By Voices set to headline. Another exciting addition to this year’s lineup is Deer Tick, who will be performing as Nirvana tribute band Deervana at Brooklyn Bowl.
The film component of the festival includes an in-competition DIY Film Festival, as well as a non-competitive screening series. Festival judges include Rosie Perez, Ted Hope, Pat Kaufman and Todd P. The non-competition screening series is curated by IFC, Rooftop Films, indieWIRE, Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP), BAM, Animation Block Party, and many more.
On June 18 and 19, the most densely populated arts community in the country will open its doors to the public in a massive Open Studios program in conjunction with Greenpoint Open Studios. Hundreds of artists and galleries will show their latest work to thousands of interested patrons.
Northside Ideas: As Brooklyn has become a national incubator for new ideas and media, the creators and innovators developing exciting new products and brands will speak on a series of panels about what to expect next.
