March 7, 2011 (Philadelphia, PA)Davis Concert Staging, Inc. (DCS), the non-profit promoter, is collaborating with internet radio upstart, Gashouse Radio, as well as The Hard Rock Café to produce a live event which will take place at The Hard Rock Café’s Center City, Philadelphia location (1113-31 Market Street) on March 15, 2011. The event will be recorded by mSOUND Studios of Philadelphia and will be available for download completely free of charge. Those interested in purchasing the recording will simply have to provide their email address to gain access to the digital download. Admission to the show is free of charge and is open to all ages.

This unique opportunity for emerging artists is the first in a series of shows called The Gashouse Sessions. The first show, held on March 15, will feature local artists such as On Display, Joey Harkum (of Pasadena), and Tsunami Rising. Patrons are encouraged to arrive early as The Hard Rock Café is expecting a packed house. The show is scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m.

“We’re excited to help produce such a unique opportunity for these bands in which the fans are invited to enjoy a free show and the album will later be distributed for free to anyone who is interested. We’re also working to bring more people in general into The Hard Rock [Cafe] for live music events, so ultimately, it’s a win for everyone involved” says Ben Davis, President of DCS.

DCS produces shows at The Hard Rock Café every Tuesday and Friday night with increasing success since September 2010. The non-profit aims to keep admission low to patrons (usually $5 to $7) and have maintained an all ages policy since September – even on weekend shows. Most recently, DCS produced a sold-out show on February 18, 2011 that featured Tayyib Aliand Hoodie Allen.

The Gashouse Sessions will be available for download from the DCS website (www.davisconcertstaging.org) as well as the Gashouse Radio website (www.gashouseradio.com). The event will also be broadcasted live over the internet viaGashouse Radio.

Bands interested in performing at a Gashouse Session in the future, should feel free to contact Ben Davis via DCS‘ website: www.davisconcertstaging.org.

ABOUT DAVIS CONCERT STAGING (DCS):

The mission of Davis Concert Staging is to support and raise awareness and funds for a variety of charitable organizations by organizing, hosting and promoting concert events featuring local artists. Davis Concert Staging aims to promote local, independent musicians while contributing to charitable causes. DCS Inc. is a non-profit organization with a deep commitment to charity and the production of quality live entertainment.
Davis Concert Staging was created in July, 2006 by brothers Ben and Jake Davis. The two saw advantages in the opportunity to organize and promote quality music events with a socially responsible and charitable focus.

In August, 2006, the Davis boys organized and hosted the first DCS show at the Davishousehold in Marlton, NJ. The name of the inaugural event - The Goods in the Woods – was inspired by it’s location in the southern tip of Evesham Township. The show turned out to be a huge success; four bands were included on the show bill; three from the Philadelphia/South Jersey area and one from Dallas, Texas. The bands at the event played multiple genres from punk and rock to emo and popular covers. The turnout was big with nearly 200 guests of all ages in attendance. After the event was complete and cleanup was finished, Ben and Jakedecided to make the festival the genesis of their non-profit charitable organization.

Today, DCS operates with 4 volunteer board members, including Ben & Jake, to organize, produce, and promote multiple events throughout the year.

Long term organizational goals include:

  • Donating a substantial portion of the proceeds to various charitable organizations
  • Planning and promoting a spring college tour
  • Promoting and/or managing local unsigned talent
  • Organizing music events for various charitable organizations
