Paris Carney walked into the electronica pop world with a girl next door image and a voice angels would be jealous of. Today she released her second single “Astronaut” through NYLON. Paris had previously stolen the hearts and ears of music lovers everywhere with her first single “It’s Always The Quiet Ones” last month. “Astronaut” is going to cement Paris’ place in this industry. “I just wanna make my mark” is sang in the chorus. Girl, I don’t think you have anything to worry about, you already have.
“Astronaut” literally sounds like it’s sparkling. The chill vibe produced by the melody and beats give it a cosmic sound. It’s topped off with lyrics that tells a story of going out on your own. The song isn’t an in-your-face pop song with allows the audience to actually get a deeper look into the music and create a connection.
According to Twitter, her husband Greg Garbowsky (bassist for the Jonas Brothers) and David Cook (My Favorite Highway) were included in the making of the song in some way, shape or form. Let’s hope they are involved in some more because this song is golden.
No word on any forthcoming plans or an album but fingers crossed we hear some good news soon! Looking into my crystal ball, Paris has a very promising future.
