Starred is Liza Thorn and Matthew Koshak. The duo formed the project in 2011 after moving from San Francisco to LA following a personal and artistic break with Christopher Owens and their previous project Curls. After writing and producing their first tracks together, videographer Grant Singer (Sky Ferreira, DIIV, Tamaryn) directed the project’s first 3 videos including the gorgeous “No Good” and “Call Me From Paris”.

The fashion world has since accepted Starred with open arms–Liza has been featured in 2 issues of V Mag including an 8-page fashion editorial and the “Girls of Now” alongside Azealia Banks, Sky Ferreira, Grimes.  She has been photographed by YSL Design Director and famed photographer Hedi Slimane. Starred recently was requested by Courtney Love to open for a secret show where she announced them to her fans saying “Starred is my favorite band in NYC!”. Liza is also appearing in Grant Singer’s upcoming film IRL featuring Sky Ferreira, Genesis P-Orridge, and Damien Echols which will premiere at Cannes Court Metrage.

Starred is currently recording tracks for their forthcoming full-length debut.
