There are going to be 16 match-ups between 9:00 AM and 4:30 PM tomorrow.  Here is a breakdown of a few key match-ups for the day.

Right off the bat, we have match-up with a veteran vs. the new kids in town, well sort of.  Radiohead, and lead Thom Yorke, have a HUGE dedicated fan base that has been built over the last 2 decades of an incredible catalog of their own niche sound of electronic sounding vocals mixed with the groove of their instrumental driven rock. Yet, over the last 4-5 years The XX has been growing in fame, but many critics and fans had been incredibly disappointed with their most recent full length Coexist, released in December 2011.  Vet vs. smaller (somewhat disappointed) fan base… who will take it?  Perhaps The XX will kick off the 2013 madness with an upset against the favored Radiohead.

One of the most even match-up’s is perhaps the legendary Pixes vs. My Morning Jacket.  Both have either own key sound as well as a dedicated fan base, however, with the last Epic Album, Circuital, and the popularity of Jim James’ (Lead singer of MMJ) new full length Regions of Light and Sound of God, be enough to overcome over a decade of more tunes and tours that the Pixies have over them?

From one end of the spectrum to the other, we have one of the longest-lived hiphop acts, The Beastie Boys going up against the American singer-songwriter, Fiona Apple.  Both released an album in the couple years or so that received universal acclaim and both have a vast fan base that most likely have them in the top 5 songs on either top rated playlist on their iPods, so this is a real toss up.  Though its hard to bring back to light, the death of Adam Yauch of The Beastie Boys may bring them a few more votes from fans still looking to show support and celebrate his undeniable influence on the birth and evolution of hiphop over the past two decades.
