The Obvious at Asbury Lanes

If you’re suffering from a general lack of rock ‘n’ roll in your life, New Jersey’s The Obvious is here to help. Saturday, April 28th at the world famous Asbury Lanes is a date you should write down, add to your iPhone’s iCal (or whatever that app you use is called) or jot down on that sticky-note pad you probably neglect, as the Asbury Park powerhouse celebrates the release of Maybe She’s Bored With It.
There are few live acts today that leave you with a “holy shit” reaction….more than once. The Obvious, fronted by the raucous Angie Sugrim, delivers all things needed to satisfy one’s musical lust: a raw and real intensity, unique talent and an exploding sound. This rock ‘n’ roll group is an independent act who’s been scratching and clawing their way to success. They recently were asked to perform as the back-up band for Sugar Hill Gang, as the famous “Rappers Delight” icons premiered their ‘I Want My Name Back’ documentary at the Garden State Film Festival. They also hit the studio (again) with the legendary Pete Steinkopf of the Bouncing Souls to record their forthcoming album Maybe She’s Bored With It (which will be released and available everywhere on April 28th.)
Joining The Obvious at their cd release party are three of New Jersey’s “cream of the crop” acts. Lost In Society (who were nominated as Best Punk Band in the TSI Music Awards) are opening the night with their high-energy, crowd captivating set. Chemtrail, known for their unique blend of punk, post-punk, stoner rock, and metal will rock fans right into the 90s-esque sound of Give Me Static who brings a modern edge of rock to the forefront.
The Asbury Lanes is located on 4th Ave in Asbury Park. Doors open at 8pm. Admission is $8. The Rock is free.
