The Pixies played last night at the Wellmont theater in Montclair New Jersey alongside openers Surfer Blood. This was a start to another Doolittle tour, which is essentially going on its second year in a row. “Two years and counting in this celebration of Doolittle’s 20th anniversary,” laughed drummer Lovering. “But people keep asking us to bring ‘Doolittle’ to their city, and we’re really happy to do it.(via Brooklyn Vegan)”
Pixies opened the show with a brilliant animated short while taking the the stage to a raucous applause from their die-hard fans. The show was going relatively smoothly until an electrical power outage from the soundboard caused the second-to-last song of the night to cut out in silence. Whoops! After a few short uncomfortable moments, sound was restored and the Pixies were back, louder than ever. The Pixies played a number of songs from the 1989 Doolittle album including the related B-Sides. See the set list below.
The Pixies will be continuing their ongoing Doolittle tour with dates in Hampton Beach, NH; Portland, ME; Huntington, NY and Greensboro, NC. Click here to see if and when the Pixies will be coming your way.
