Nick Hertzberg and Bryan Batiste of These Branches bring the punk to college radio airwaves this Friday on WMCX 88.9 FM’s specialty show “White Trash Radio” to debut their third album, The Payoff.
For Theses Branches, The Payoff is their first album written as a two-piece band, but being short and to the point has never really been a problem for Hertzberg and Batiste. This 10 minute record steers away from topics of love and relationships heard on their previous album and instead dives straight into issues within the music industry. Recently compared to Fugazi for their stance on condemning the current state of music, These Branches don’t waste a single moment on The Payoff to express what they need to say.
Strongly influenced by the DIY trend, their art, attitude and music reflects their independent take on the punk scene. From recording to graphic design, Hertzberg and Batiste spend their time doing what they love and hope that other punk bands will follow in the same footsteps of the DIY movement.
To get a first listen of The Payoff tune in to WMCX 88.9 FM at 4 pm this Friday, October 21st or listen to live online streaming at www.wmcx.com. After the interview the boys are heading down for a show in Philly at the IHOP house along side other bands, Science Fair, Trunks & Tails, and Apart.
The Payoff can also be pre-ordered at http://katkatrecords.bandcamp.com two weeks prior to the record release on October 30th.
