Kung Fu Necktie is in for a folky treat tonight with the Water Liars, Levee Drivers, and Thom McCarthy.  Dynamic influences of folk and rock pour through each and every Water Liars song.  Through tasteful harmonies, distorted guitar riffs, and heartfelt lyrics, Water Liars projects the feeling of heartache and hope.  It’s a good feeling and a feeling that Philadelphia’s Levee Drivers know just as well.

The Levee Drivers always capture the crowd with their raw emotion and beautiful use of lap steel guitar. Through some slow folk tunes, the Water Liars and Levee Drivers may be a tearjerking duo that brings hope to the hopeless.  Of course, the upbeat tracks, incorporating more rock influence,  will turn Kung Fu Necktie into an All-American party.

Kicking off the night, Thom McCarthy will take the stage with a full band, which is a rare occurrence.  McCarthy incorporates lots of jazz elements into his performances as well as plenty of other instruments.  Rumor has it that he will be playing some songs from his upcoming album.  For any Thom McCarthy fans, tonight’s show is not one to miss, and for any new fans, this will be a great introduction to what McCarthy is capable of.
