Trey Anastasio Working on New Solo Album
Phish frontman Trey Anastasio is very quietly working on solo in Tarquin Studios with producer Peter Katis who has worked with bands such as the National and Interpol. The most surprising aspect of all of this is that members of both the National and Mates of State are recording with Anastasio. Here is what Peter Katis had to say,
“He’s the lead singer of the band Phish, and he wants to do something totally out of left-field for him. They’re the kind of band that’s always been about live performance more than anything else. But this time I think he wants to make a record that’s just about making a record, and it doesn’t have to be the kind of thing that you could re-create live.”
It is speculated that recording will conclude sometime around NYE so that Anastasio and Phish can play their four night run at Madison Square Garden. There are little known details about the album but check out some videos of Anastasio playing some new tunes and a cover below.
