Walter Trout at the Berks Jazz Fest, April 1, 2011
The blues, done right! The Berks Jazz Fest offers some of the best jazz, blues and smooth jazz artists in the country. And when it comes to playing the blues, one of the best is Walter Trout. Walter brought his four piece blues band to the Berks Jazz Fest and showed the audience that he was the guy to hear. He opened with “Help Me” and it’s driving beat and hard blues chords exploded from Walter’s axe. The drummer pushed the beat while Walter held on tight, hitting his licks in stride. The show got hotter from there as the band found its groove. The bass player and keys man got it right, tune after tune and Walter, being the veteran blues machine that he is, challenged himself and his band to play better and hotter. It was a hot night at Berks!
