Watch Out: Top 3 Foo Fighter's Music Videos
Driving around the other night I was struck by the sudden urge to listen to the early Foo Fighter’s track, “Everlong.” At 12:15 am it’s pretty difficult to try and find a way to listen to a song you don’t have. Even worse then trying to load “Everlong” on YouTube while driving, was the empty feeling I instantly felt when it kept freezing. I needed to hear the song so I did what any normal person would do and drove to a Wal-Mart Supercenter and bought the Foo Fighter’s greatest hits record out of the bargain bin (this is not a stab at the Foo Fighters, it was simply a dated greatest hits album). After listening to “Everlong” four or five times I began to branch out to other songs, and I immediately began recalling various Foo Fighters’ videos. From the incredibly funny “Learn to Fly” and the not so funny “My Hero” the Foo Fighters have constantly created memorable companions to their songs. It was difficult to really choose which videos to put on this list. For example “Break Out” is one of the funniest videos I have ever seen with its connections to the hilarious Farrelly brothers film, Me, Myself and Irene, but is it as funny as the classic video for 1995′s “Big Me”?
3. Learn to Fly
Easily one of the funniest Foo Fighter’s videos and also a parody of the classic movie, Airplane!. It features Jack Black and Kyle Gass playing two mechanics. Dave Grohl is seen playing several hilarious characters the funniest being a flight attendant, as well as a girl obsessed with the Foo Fighters.
2. Big Me
FOOTOS! Also Dave Grohl in pig tails and that little kid rocking out with his American flag bandana make this video instantly enjoyable.
This Michael Gondry directed video is number one for so many reasons. The surreal video features Grohl and drummer Taylor Hawkins as Sid and Nancy esque characters while also going in and out of alternate dreams. At its conclusion the Foo Fighters emerge from their fictional characters to finish the song.
