London’s Vondelpark release their debut record, Seabed, April 2nd on R&S Records. It’s a coming of age album, carrying the most exciting strands of bedroom music — a submerged atmosphere comes across, replacing the airiness of Vondelpark’s Sauna and nyc stuff and nyc bags EPs for something slightly grander, but still intensely inward-looking. The songs here are looser with a more collaborative feel to the rhythms and playing. It’s apparent, since the release of their earlier recordings, the three childhood friends — Lewis Rainsbury (vocals, production, bass, guitar, keys), Alex Bailey (bass) and Matt Law (keys) — have developed their sound from those tentative first steps into something that sounds excitingly bold and intuitive on Seabed.

Up to this point, the band has felt like a slightly intangible and secret entity, however, today, Vondelpark bring you further into their world via the video for “California Analog Dream,” directed by Rollo Jackson. It premiered this morning on The FADER.
