Wednesday's Bird Night @ Green Line Cafe

University City’s Green Line Cafe is hosting “A Night of Avian Extravagance” this Wednesday, Dec 1st from 7pm – 10pm. Brown Bird, a Rhode Island duo, is set to perform a dark mix of their long list of influences like, blues, outlaw country, roots rock, early American folk, Gypsy and Eastern European music. Forming in 2003, they already have four albums on the shelf and jumped the pond to Europe and back. Give their Myspace a listen and you can immediately can tell their competence and truth toward their style, while maintaining their creative nature.
But please don’t confuse them with Brown Bird Blonde Bird. The West Philly locals we ran into at the exceptional The Wooden Sky house show last month are strumming away again the same night. The acoustic tunes capable of the second duo of the night are tender and melodic and prone to audience interaction.
But wait, there’s more. The performances will be followed by the screening of “Bird Eater”, which was filmed locally at Philadelphia’s Bartram’s Garden.
Entrance is just $5 so come enjoy a cup of coffee at this Locust St. shop for a relaxing and entertaining Wednesday night.
Green Line Cafe, 4426 Locust Street, Philadelphia, PA, 19104, 7-10pm.
