Rock artist Kurt Vile is no stranger to promoting his upcoming album Walkin’ on a Pretty Daze, which will be coming out on April 9, by way of unconventional means.

He first had a mural made in east Philly that would later serve as the album’s cover art and now he is going bigger in his efforts to promote the album.

How big? Well, he is going to hold a parade in Philadelphia this Saturday, which you are welcome to partake in. The event will be hosted by music video director/comedy writer/WFMU “Best Show” host Tom Scharpling.

Scharpling will also be directing a video of the event.

Yesterday on the Matador Records website, fans were encouraged to email kurtvileparade@gmail.com if they would like to participate in the parade. You must email said address in order to get the exact time and place of the parade.

In the meantime, you can watch this video of Vile and his daughter listening to “Never Run Away.”
