There’s a ton of things taking place this coming holiday weekend. Folks are tryingto get to the beach one last time, put on a swim suit, eat a grilled burger or dog. But if this weekend is not taking you to the shore points, there’s plenty of reason to stay in the cities you love and hear some of the best regional and local talent the tri state area has to offer and then some.
The WHYY Connections festival is probably number one on our list of events this coming Saturday, not just because DR Dog, Justin Townes Earl, Baseball Project, Kuf Knotz, Birdie Busch, Toy Soldiers are all performing, but the concert event is FREE!!!! Where else are you gonna get that kinda bang for absolutely no buck? The event starts on Saturday at 2PM at the Great PLaza at Penns Landing. See below for more information. Rounding out the bill for the concert on Saturday will be The Baseball Project, hip-hop artist Kuf Knotz; singer-songwriter Birdie Busch; and Toy Soldiers.
The concert will also feature brief performances by the Kyo Daiko drum team of Philadelphia, a performance by First Person Arts “Story Slam” champion R. Eric Thomas, live painting by Hussian School of Art students and more!
