XpoNential Music Festival 2011

WXPN (http://www.xpn.org), the nationally-recognized leader in Triple A (Adult Album Alternative) music and noncommercial radio service of the University of Pennsylvania, continues to offer the best mix of new and established artists at its 2011 XPoNential Music Festival presented by Subaru. This annual summer festival, now in its 18th year, returns for a seventh year to Wiggins Park on the Camden Waterfront from Friday, July 22 through Sunday, July 24. Gates open at 5 p.m. on Friday and noon on Saturday and Sunday.
The River and Jersey Arts.com Marina Stages will feature an inviting lineup of heritage artists, new acts and local performers that reflect the diverse blend of music that is uniquely WXPN. A stunning array of local talent comprises this year’s lineup including David Uosikkinen’s “In the Pocket” featuring members of The Hooters. The XPoNential Music Festival presented by Subaru is also the first show of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah’s latest tour and the band’s first Philadelphia show since 2007. Appearing at the festival for the first time ever, the legendary Emmylou Harris will close the festival on Sunday.
Performances kick off on the River Stage on Friday at 7:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 p.m. and on the Jersey Arts.com Marina Stage on Friday at 5:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at 12:30 p.m.

Early Bird prices for festival tickets will be available through July 15th. Early Bird prices for a daily pass are $15 for WXPN members and $25 for the general public. Early Bird prices for a 3-Day Pass are $35 for WXPN members and $50 for the general public. Early Bird tickets can be purchased online or by phone at 215-222-1400. Tickets can also be purchased at select retailers in WXPN’s listening area including the Greater Philadelphia region, Southern N.J. and Central Pa. The full list of retailers can be found online.
Returning for the fourth year is the Village Green where festival attendees can learn about sustainable and eco-friendly products and services from companies that are leading the way in environmentalism throughout the Delaware Valley. For the fifth year, the Crafts Village along the marina will feature handcrafted creations available for sale.
The Kids Corner Area will be open from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. As part of the four-acre Camden Children’s Garden, join host Kathy O’Connell as Kids Corner offers family-friendly exhibits, exciting amusement rides, themed gardens and nature walks.
This festival has drawn increasingly larger and enthusiastic crowds since it began in 1994, and the station expects over 15,000 attendees during the three-day weekend. The venue was selected by WXPN for its spectacular waterfront views, natural amphitheatre for great sound, easy access to public transportation, lush open green spaces and array of local attractions, such as Adventure Aquarium and the Camden Children’s Garden, which serves as the Kids Corner Area.
CAMDEN COUNTY’S WIGGINS PARK is located on the Camden Waterfront, between the Adventure Aquarium and the Susquehanna Bank Center and features a promenade along the Delaware River with breathtaking views of the river and Philadelphia skyline
