I’ve always been a lover of bluegrass, but the evolution of bluegrass during the past decade has brought it to a new level.  I wouldn’t say the musicianship is any better than the old pros, but the freedom to experiment with new song structures, chords, sounds, styles and longer jams has freed the music; allowing it to really soar.

Leading the charge in this genre of modern bluegrass is Yonder.  This four piece rocks out everything from classical bluegrass style tunes to wild improvisational jams.  No fiddle.  No drums.  Guitar, Mandolin, Bass, and Banjo fill the room with sound, and the enthusiastic sold-out crowd at TLA loved every minute of it.  Enjoy the photos!
