Young the Giant Ended Musikfest Day 1 With A Bang

WHO: Young The Giant
WHERE: Musikfest – Bethlehem, PA
WHEN: Friday 8/3/12
On the opening night of Musikfest 2012 in Bethlehem, PA, crowds flocked to the Sands Steel Stage to see Young The Giant. As the suspense grew during the opening acts performed by White Rabbits and Portugal The Man, the crowds grew anxious to see lights dimming and hear the opening act of “I Got”. Within moments of them taking the stage the crowd jumped to their feet for the energy that was being given off by Sameer Gadhia, lead vocals.
Gadhia encouraged all to “stand up and more forward.” Starting from more of a slow pace, the band quickly sped up to Gadhia’s body that moved faster than the beat of their music. Young The Giant showed their gratitude and passion just as the crowd did by singing every word to the song “Cough Syrup.” Gadhia also announced that drummer Francois Comtois was taken to the emergency room earlier that day due to a shoulder injury, but received a steroid shot to insure that the show would go on.
